YE MORDHEIM LEGENDS GAZETTE |
UNWANTED GUESTS I was preparing to explore the ruins once more, when the door flung open, and in entered a young man in ragged clothes with a duelling sword hung from his belt. Asking what he wanted of me, he replied "I'm Donato, famed duellist, and I've come to end your life" he spoke with the foolish bravery of someone who hadn't witnessed death first hand, I laughed at his arrogance "You, Donato, I think not I have seen him, heard his tales even, you look nothing like him" this did not seem to phase the boy, drawing his sword he challenged me to a duel. A fight he wanted a fight he would get, grabbing my sword I prepared for battle. "Donato" lunged at me trying to jab the sword into my gut, which I easily parried, returning the blow I struck my sword hard against his, flinging him to the floor. Preparing to end the fight I backed away poised ready to strike, the kid charged at me again this time, side-stepping his blow, I wrapped my cloak around his sword and pulled, his sword flew out of his hand and slid across the floor. Grinning at the lad, I told him "For your safety I would leave now, before I get hungry" at that he scrambled to his feet and fled into the street. Unfortunately the fleeing kid alerted the presence of a small band of witch hunters. Grabbing my shield, I prepared for the fight ahead. The first witch hunter charged, blocking his mace I thrust my sword right threw him. Two more witch hunters circled behind me, swinging around I caught on of them off guard, sending him sprawling across the room. Turning my attentions to the other man, I just barely dodged his thrust, backhanding him with my shield, making him stumble backwards. The other witch hunter jumped me from behind, sending me sprawling to the ground, leaping up I blocked his slash, our swords locking, struggling to gain control I pushed the force sending him into the wall, knocking him unconscious. The other witch hunter, sensibly backed away, and ran out of the door, swearing vengeance. After feeding off the unconcious witch
hunter, I gathered my things knowing that it would no
longer be safe to stay here. After a few hours searching
I settled on what I thought would be the safest place in
all of Mordheim, the attic of the Twisted Goat Inn..... |
